This full-time position on the Pullman campus provides leadership for Washington State University’s student newspaper, both print and online editions of The Daily Evergreen, and annual yearbook The Chinook.  The General Manager is responsible for the hiring and training of permanent staff and student employees.  Duties include oversight of all business operations, advising student managers in the legal and ethical aspects of their work, and providing regular reports to the Student Publications Board.   
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the newspaper field in either news, advertising, as an advisor or manager in college student media or a combination of any of these.  At least one year of supervisory experience is required.  Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-to-year basis.   Demonstrated knowledge of computers and software in newspaper production, excellent verbal and writing skills, and ability to communicate with diverse groups is a must.
